Wedding DJ Scotland – Our Terms & Conditions
Clear. Fair. Transparent. For Your Peace of Mind.

At Wedding DJ Scotland, we believe booking your wedding or event entertainment should be simple, stress-free, and transparent. That’s why we’ve made our terms and conditions easy to understand and available online — so you know exactly where you stand from day one.
These terms are designed to protect both you and us, giving you complete peace of mind while allowing us to deliver the high standard of service we’re known for.

When a Booking Becomes a Contract
A legally binding agreement under Scots Law is formed once you instruct or request us to book your event and we confirm it. This applies whether the instruction is made:
-
via email
-
through our website
-
on social media
-
by phone
-
or via third-party platforms such as Hitched, Bridebook, Poptop, or similar
Once confirmed, your date is reserved exclusively for you.
You then have a 14-day cooling-off period during which you may cancel with no penalty. After this period, our standard cancellation terms apply.

What Happens Next?
After confirmation, we’ll send you a digital booking form to e-sign. This outlines all details of your event (date, time, venue, package) along with these full terms and conditions.

Our Terms Explained Simply
1. Booking & Payments
-
A booking retainer and completed booking form are required within 14 days of confirmation
-
The remaining balance is due 21 days before your event
-

2. Cancellations
-
If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, the booking retainer is non-refundable
-
A cancellation fee of at least 50% of the total booking cost will apply
-
If cancellation occurs within 60 days of the event, or if we’ve declined other work based on your booking, full payment may be required
-
All cancellations must be made in writing and will be acknowledged in writing
-

3. Professional Standards
We always conduct ourselves professionally and will comply with all reasonable requests regarding:
-
dress code
-
volume levels
-
music selection
-
equipment positioning
-
event timing
-

4. Power Supply
We require access to a safe, properly earthed mains power supply. If power is unsafe or inadequate, we may need to limit or stop equipment use. In these cases, cancellation terms may apply.

5. If We Can’t Attend
In the extremely unlikely event that we’re unable to attend due to illness, accident, or emergency, all monies paid will be fully refunded. No further liability will apply
.
6. Music Licensing
For most private events (weddings, birthdays, parties), no licence is required. For public events, the client is responsible for ensuring licences are in place. If we’re unable to perform due to licensing issues, cancellation terms apply.

7. Setup & Takedown
Sufficient time must be allowed for setup and takedown depending on your package. This will be detailed in your event planner.

8. Damage & Equipment Safety
The client is responsible for any damage to equipment caused by guests, venue staff, or attendees.

9. Venue Responsibility
By booking, you confirm that:
-
you have permission to use the venue
-
the venue complies with all relevant laws and licensing conditions
-

10. Extended Hours
If you’d like us to play longer on the night, extensions are subject to availability and venue restrictions:
-
£100 per hour (or part thereof) up to midnight
-
£180 per hour (or part thereof) after midnight
-

11. Staff Catering
For long or all-day events, especially at exclusive-use venues, we kindly ask that a simple bar meal is provided if no staff area is available. This helps us maintain uninterrupted service.

12. Legal Agreement
By requesting or instructing us to book your event, you confirm acceptance of these terms. This agreement is governed by Scots Law and is fully recognised for wedding and event insurance purposes.
