Wedding DJ Scotland – Terms & Conditions

(The Small Print)

At Wedding DJ Scotland, we believe in keeping things clear and simple for our clients. That’s why we’ve published our terms and conditions online—to provide complete transparency and added peace of mind when booking with us.

A legally binding agreement under Scots Law is formed once a client issues a request or instruction to book our services—whether communicated verbally, by email, through our website, via social media, or through any third-party enquiry platform such as Hitched, Bridebook, Poptop, or any other enquiry source—and we acknowledge this with a booking confirmation. This agreement is enforceable regardless of whether the booking form has yet been signed. However, we do provide a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of confirmation, during which the client may cancel without penalty. After this period, our standard cancellation terms apply.

Upon confirmation, we will issue a booking form for e-signature, which outlines all relevant details of your event (including date, time, location, and package), along with the following full terms and conditions:

---

1. Booking & Payment

WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND requires the completed booking form to be returned and the booking retainer paid within 14 days of confirmation. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 21 days prior to the function date.

2. Cancellations

If the CLIENT cancels the booking or the event does not proceed for any reason after the 14-day cooling-off period, the booking retainer will be forfeited. A cancellation fee of no less than 50% of the total booking cost will apply. Full payment will be sought if cancellation occurs within 60 days of the event date or if WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND can demonstrate a loss from declining other work based on this booking. Cancellations must be received in writing and will be acknowledged in writing.

3. Professional Conduct

WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND will conduct themselves in a professional manner and comply with all reasonable client requests regarding dress code, volume, music selection, equipment positioning, and other reasonable requirements.

4. Electrical Supply

WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND requires access to a properly earthed and adequate mains electricity supply. If the supply is inadequate or unsafe, equipment use may be limited or the performance may not proceed. In such cases, Clause 2 will apply.

5. Non-Attendance

In the unlikely event that WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND is unable to attend due to illness, accident, or emergency, all monies paid will be fully refunded. No further liability or compensation will be accepted.

6. Music Licensing

It is the CLIENT’s responsibility to ensure that appropriate music licences are in place if required. Private invitation-only events (such as weddings or birthdays) typically do not require a licence, but public events may. If WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND is unable to perform due to licensing issues, Clause 2 will apply.

7. Setup & Takedown

Adequate time must be allowed for setup and takedown, depending on the package booked. This will be detailed in the CLIENT's event planner.

8. Liability for Damages

The CLIENT is responsible for ensuring the safety of the DJ’s equipment and is liable for any loss or damage caused by guests, staff, or attendees at the event.

9. Venue Compliance

The CLIENT confirms they have the right to use the venue for the event and that it complies with all relevant laws, byelaws, and licence conditions.

10. Extended Hours

Performance extensions are at the discretion of WEDDING DJ SCOTLAND and subject to venue and legal restrictions. If granted, the following rates apply:
– £100 per hour (or part thereof) up to midnight
– £180 per hour (or part thereof) after midnight

11. Staff Catering

Where a separate bar or staff area is unavailable, particularly in exclusive-use venues, we kindly request that a small bar meal be arranged via the venue for our team. This helps ensure continuity of service throughout the day.

12. Agreement

By instructing or requesting a booking, the CLIENT confirms acceptance of all terms and conditions outlined above. This agreement shall be governed and interpreted under Scots Law, and is recognised as a legally binding contract, making it fully supportive of wedding and event insurance requirements.

---

We believe these terms provide clarity, fairness, and peace of mind for both parties—allowing us to focus on what we do best: delivering unforgettable events tailored to you.

We feel these T's & C's give added peace of mind to our clients and ensure we uphold our contracts.
